MONEY AND MUSCLE POWER AGAIN RULE THE ROOST IN DUSU ELECTIONS! KEEPING 4,50,000 CORRESPONDENCE STUDENTS OUT OF DUSU ELECTIONS, A SERIOUS QUESTION MARK ON THE LEGITIMACY OF DUSU!!

DUSU election results have been released and the candidates of Akhil Bhartiye Vidyarthi Parishad(ABVP) have won on all the posts of the central panel in DUSU. Like other years money and muscle power ruled the roost in the Delhi University Students Union Elections with hefty amount of money being used by the candidates to lure the voters. The candidates of the ABVP became the so called legitimate representatives of DUSU. But it is to be noted that DUSU has not been a platform for any student movement in Delhi University be it anti-FYUP movement which was started by the left organizations including Krantikari Yuva Sangathan(KYS) under the banner of ‘Save DU Campaign’. In addition to that the constituency of DUSU election is limited to the regular college students of Delhi University keeping more than 4,50,000 students out of the Union election. This puts a serious question mark on the legitimacy of the Delhi University Students Union (DUSU). DUSU is not the representative to lakhs of correspondence students studying in School Of Open Learning(SOL).
